BIO
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, Erel Pilo trained as an actress before finding her way to music. Erel writes ethereal indie-pop music with a lyrical charm. Her original songs are introspective musings on relationships, love, and loss, as well as reflections on society. Her sound has been likened to songstresses like Regina Spektor and PJ Harvey.
With the help of the folks at Modern Vintage Recordings, Erel released her debut EP, Drone in 2013. This album’s songs ranged from playful pop and electronic satire to darker, sultrier sounds. This winter, she won an award in RAD’s (Recording Artist Development) songwriting contest with her song, “Balloon” and produced it featuring the talented, Vinnie Ferra. They performed together in this year’s SXSW and CMJ. Erel plays extensively in music clubs all over New York City and around the world.
